BigTray was formed in October 1999 with funding from Sequoia Capital, the leading venture capital investors in Silicon Valley. The very best people from their respective fields (foodservice, distribution, and internet technologies) were assembled to build a revolutionary site for the purchasing of restaurant equipment and supplies online.

Built from the ground up for e-commerce, BigTray's website launched in June 2000 and has been selling restaurant equipment and supplies online to over 50,000 customers all over the world. (See a map of our U.S. customers)

BigTray is located in San Francisco, CA and offers an extensive selection of E&S items at upfront, no-haggle prices. Controlling fulfillment by shipping from their own inventory, BigTray is able to ensure customer satisfaction.

Josh developed the idea for starting BigTray while managing Economy Restaurant Fixtures, one of America's largest restaurant equipment and supply dealers. Josh graduated from UC Davis where he was a standout football player.

First foodservice career experience:
Started working at Economy Restaurant Fixtures in 1976.
